Spread The Love:

Goodbye preschool!

Recently, my eldest daughter Martha celebrated saying ‘Goodbye preschool! Hello BIG school’ – her last day before she starts school in September. Although she will still be going through the summer holidays. So its time to think about presents and teacher cards!

She had the cutest graduation ceremony and came home with a bag of lovely things made by the nursery – a sunflower for her to grow over the summer, a rainbow print made up of words to remind her of preschool and, the thing that pushed me over the edge and made me ugly cry, a poem for the parents!

So my next task is to find some presents for the ladies at preschool to thank them for everything they’ve done for us! We’ll definitely be using some of my “Thank you for helping me grow” seed paper cards – the paper has seeds in it, you just soak it and plant in compost and then wait for the wildflowers to grow. These make really lovely teacher cards for the end of term, with the added bonus of also being a built-in present! I’ve also made these for new baby cards, I think it’s a lovely idea to be able to enjoy the card and then have something that lasts a little longer.

What a lovely touch from her school

She had the cutest graduation ceremony and came home with a bag of lovely things made by the nursery – a sunflower for her to grow over the summer, a rainbow print made up of words to remind her of preschool and, the thing that pushed me over the edge and made me ugly cry, a poem for the parents!

I’ve been scouring good old Pinterest for some ideas for a present and teacher cards and I’ve added a board on the Audrey & Coco page with ideas I’ve found so far. I use this a lot, make a board with things I know Martha will like (and we can achieve with bits we’ve got at home) and let her pick which one she wants to do! A trick that saved me several times during lockdown!

Martha will love picking out sweets to go in the box and no doubt a few will disappear! She’ll also really enjoy making some teacher cards.

If you’re not the crafty type, I love these embroidered hoops from It Started With a Stitch – lovely for a gift for a teacher when leaving preschool or primary school.

So onto the next chapter for our little Mouse, I promise to share first-day pics in September.
